Journal Prompts for November: Something To Write About During Thanksgiving
Before I explain and reveal my journal prompts for November, I first want to say ->
Happy thanksgiving journalers!
I hope you’re all having a wonderful holiday with a lot of delicious meals, food coma’s and FUN memories to journal about.
(Holiday food coma’s are truly the best.)
This is a time for being thankful and being together, so have fun!
On the other hand, I know having to travel far in overfull airplanes, sleeping in unfamiliar places and hearing certain comments from family can be challenging.
This can be challenging, especially in more traditional cultures. In these cultures you have to respect those who are older than you and have to listen to whatever they say. And what people say can be very negative and hurtful sometimes.
But don’t worry, I got you with my latest addition to my list of Journal Prompts. This journal prompt for November is for those BRAVE ones who went and faced these challenges anyway because it’s thanksgiving.
Sometimes, you can’t change these negative environments and just have to make peace with it. That is, if you want to keep the harmony, even when it doesn’t feel fair…
One of my journal prompts for November
I know it often isn’t easy and a lot of people have complicated family situations. We are all just humans, nobody is perfect.
Do you know what helps me when I am in unavoidable negative circumstances like that?
I pour as much POSITIVITY in myself as I can, until I overflow with it.
(Like the amount of warm, creamy mashed potato I pour in myself.)
That means listening to positive music, watching uplifting things, reading inspiring stuff, etc. The purpose of doing this is not to deny any negative feelings you might be feeling, because that would be toxic. Rather, it’s just to balance out the negativity from the environment.
Why not give it a try?
I won’t lie. It’s easier said than done and it won’t take away all the negativity. But it helps a lot, especially when you have noise canceling headphones or earbuds. That way, you can have some time for yourself in between all the food and conversations…
And of course, journaling in addition to that, might help you return to positivity even faster. You do this by writing out all your feelings and negativity on paper, what I also called brain dumping in my guide.
Maybe it can help you too?
Who knows, if you are able to recharge yourself so much, then you might be able to help the rest of your family too. You can help them enjoy the moment more and return to HARMONY, even if it’s just for 1 day.
However, don’t expect people to change in just 1 day. Change takes time and as I mentioned in How To Have More Energy for Your Goals and Dreams, they also have to want to change.
Maybe, thanksgiving is not about fancy food, but about being together? Maybe, being thankful isn’t about being so happy that everything is going perfect, but about being able to see the perfection in imperfection?
So, here are my journal prompts for November:
“Even if I can’t change the environment I am in right now, is there a way to make it more positive for myself?”
“What can I listen to that can cheer me up? Is there something that I can watch that can make me feel better? What is something I can read that can give me more perspective? How can I be thankful even if not everything is perfect? Is there a way to make me see things differently?”
If you have dreams you want to achieve…
CREATE YOUR OWN LUCK!
P.S. When nothing seems to work, maybe what you actually need is a food coma nap to regain energy. Because without energy you can’t do anything, more about that in my future part of How To Journal.
